Free Lessons with Tony O’Regan, ’10 WAYS OF SEEING AND DRAWING’. This course will develop drawing and sketching skills for all your artistic goals. Exercises and projects lead to understanding and applying perspective drawing, gesture, contour, massing, figure-ground, silhouette, tonal design, and composition. You will explore a variety of creative free (Tony’s Video or our Course on Thursday nights is on his website and you can watch it again to review) hand techniques which will develop and improve your approach to drawing. The class
will also study the drawing of the Face and Figure. If you are a painter in any medium, or if you simply want to improve your drawing and sketching for travel or as a hobby, you will gain some important skills for your work. 4 sessions, 2 1/2 hours long. Tony will give instruction and hand out notes.Members who usually work in the room will work at one end. Lessons at the other. Same students for all classes and it must be made clear that if you sign up – you show up. Tony is a member of our club and is donating his time – they are free to the student, so please be serious about signing up. They will be held at South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre, 14601 20th Avenue, Surrey. You must apply for this course, so get your name in if you would like to attend. MATERIALS FOR TONY’S DRAWING CLASSES:
Pencils: HB, plus a 2b or 4b, white vinyl eraser or any type
Conte: 2 sticks, 2b or 4b
Fine-line felt pen (one or two)for example “pilot fineliner” at London Drugs …or any
Paper – 11 x 17 approx sketchbook or individual sheets
