Wagstaff Wayne - 'Moeraki Boulders'
Wagstaff Wayne - 'Moeraki Boulders'
Much of Wayne’s early life was in the outdoors and it shows in his works. He spent many summers at Sprout Lake as a child, when he was not camping with the Boy Scouts. At seventeen, he took his first real trip abroad and went to the 4th Nippon Boy Scout Jamboree and spent just over 3 weeks in Japan. After graduating from university he moved around a little and then with his wife Sandra and their two children Michael and Kristin settled in Surrey. The summers still meant camping!

Vibrant watercolours are my passion. I do both traditional framed watercolours and varnished watercolours. My varnished watercolours are done on watercolour paper that is adhered to a thick wood board. After the paper has dried onto the wood board I do my sketch and then use a combination of watercolour paints, gouache and pen and ink to complete my piece. To finish the process I use several coats of varnish to seal the art and give it a UV protection so it does not have to be framed under glass. I paint a variety of subjects including buildings, birds, fish, fairies and insects...but my favourite subject to paint is flowers.

Wickland, Connie - Jonah
I love the process of painting, I think what continues to hold my interest in painting over the years is the fact that I can never quite get the effect on canvas to match what I feel in m;y heart. My vision is always better than the product I produce on the canvas, creating an inner drive of always trying to improve.

Ainsworth-Mout, Gloria-Sunflower-Angel-Surprise
I love painting reflections! This painting was named through a contest on my website. Colin, who named it said; "A wonderful new sensation is being created on your easel! The imagery gives me the need to smile and to feel a sustained happiness. It reminds me of an angelfish discovering a beautiful flower on it's nose. "Sunflower Angel Surprise" is my suggestion for a title". I enjoy the contrasts between the color of the sunflower and the black and white fabric.

Stevenson, Mary, Sunset Coast.jpg
I am a textile / fibre artist living in White Rock with an ever changing scene of beauty before me daily, a perfect place to be inspired. l have worked with textiles for most of my life so it was not surprising to me to one day, several years ago to decide to paint using textiles. So what you see here is my ' Sunset Coast 'painting and instead of using paint for brush strokes l use hundreds of tiny fragments of fabric. l like to work with silk because of the rich vibrant colours that l love but l also at times add other mixed elements and touches of paint to enhance. l am ever learning as l am on this journey of art. l hope you enjoy this piece of my journey.

I always wanted to paint and during the 10 years I was a professional photographer I would often refer to myself as a painter of light. Years later, while studying architecture, I was encouraged to learn watercolour as a way to improve my presentation materials. As it turned out I preferred painting, go figure.
