Klemm, Peter, Canadian Reflection
I work primarily with oils on canvas. I am particularly drawn to subject material that shows a lot of depth and contrast with light and shadow. My works typically draw you in using perspective and taking the eye of the viewer on a path into the scene.

Vibrant watercolours are my passion. I do both traditional framed watercolours and varnished watercolours. My varnished watercolours are done on watercolour paper that is adhered to a thick wood board. After the paper has dried onto the wood board I do my sketch and then use a combination of watercolour paints, gouache and pen and ink to complete my piece. To finish the process I use several coats of varnish to seal the art and give it a UV protection so it does not have to be framed under glass. I paint a variety of subjects including buildings, birds, fish, fairies and insects...but my favourite subject to paint is flowers.

I love the process of painting, I think what continues to hold my interest in painting over the years is the fact that I can never quite get the effect on canvas to match what I feel in m;y heart. My vision is always better than the product I produce on the canvas, creating an inner drive of always trying to improve.

Ainsworth-Mout, Gloria - Sunflower Angel Surprise
I love painting reflections! This painting was named through a contest on my website. Colin, who named it said; "A wonderful new sensation is being created on your easel! The imagery gives me the need to smile and to feel a sustained happiness. It reminds me of an angelfish discovering a beautiful flower on it's nose. "Sunflower Angel Surprise" is my suggestion for a title". I enjoy the contrasts between the color of the sunflower and the black and white fabric.

I am a textile / fibre artist living in White Rock with an ever changing scene of beauty before me daily, a perfect place to be inspired. l have worked with textiles for most of my life so it was not surprising to me to one day, several years ago to decide to paint using textiles. So what you see here is my ' Sunset Coast 'painting and instead of using paint for brush strokes l use hundreds of tiny fragments of fabric. l like to work with silk because of the rich vibrant colours that l love but l also at times add other mixed elements and touches of paint to enhance. l am ever learning as l am on this journey of art. l hope you enjoy this piece of my journey.

Herder, Reet - Evening Glory
Herder, Reet - Evening Glory
When I began my painting career, in 1998, I was amazed at how quickly I had been captured by the world of art and lured into it’s secret paths to paint life, as I saw it. Painting became such a passion, for me, which invoked a deep desire to capture, photographically, images from all walks of life that could be used for my artistic expressions. These photos became my emotional bond which inspired me to put down on canvas what my heart wanted to convey. Be it still life, florals, animals, people or landscapes, the whole world became alive and I could hardly wait to start creating my stories. Colors came to life, values took on a different meaning and lights and darks became teachers, in and of themselves. I felt I had so many stories to paint and the challenge to be able to speak through my artwork was inmeasurable. My mind had become my artistic voice, always ready for another canvas. Today, my artistic signature, into the world of visual arts, is an expression of peace and tranquility with images and colors that may capture your heart and soul and bring about the same emotional response that intrigued me, to begin with.
